Elizabeth II, 1952-2022. Royal Mint Error 5p, 1990. Wrong Metal In Bronze. 2.11g.
A very rare example of a Royal Mint error 5 Pence struck out of collar and in wrong metal, bronze rather than the standard cupro-nickel as intended. This unusual mix up at the Mint has caused an interesting collectors piece.
The error would most likely have been caused by having been struck on a 1p or 2p blank.
The coin is in very attractive condition, with some original lustre and eye appeal in the hand.
