Georgian Silver Marriage Button, And Other Buttons.
Georgian Silver Marriage Button, c.1750. The circular button depicting two conjoined and crowned hearts, originally symbolising the marriage of King Charles II and Catherine in 1662. The stud on the reverse with a makers mark. 13mm diameter. The stud on reverse chipped, overall wear. And six other Georgian silver buttons and cufflinks, all engraved with roses or flower heads. 13-18mm diameter. All with some wear or slight damage such as small splits or bends, all retaining original loops on reverse, one cufflink missing one half.
