Ireland. Edward VI In Name Of Henry VIII, 1547-53. Posthumous Sixpenny Groat.

  • Edward VI In The Name Of Henry VIII, 1547-53. Posthumous Issue Sixpenny Groat, mm. Harp, struck 1547-c.1550. Smaller 'Tower' Style Portrait.

Obv: Portrait of Henry VIII right, in the style of the late 'Tower' Mint issue. Rev: Shield of arms over cross, mint mark harp above.

    Reference: S.6488.

An attractive and well struck coin with a strong portrait. A nice smooth edge with no degrading to the metal which is often seen with this more debased and crude series.
