Medieval Buckle And Plate, c.1150-1300 A.D. The copper-alloy single looped buckle attached to a separately formed plate with repoussé acanthus leaf style decoration. The buckle decorated with incised lines, attached to the bar is the repoussé sheet metal plate which terminates on an angles and pierced and repoussé projection, the sheet folded over the buckle bar and attached on the reverse. The pin hooked around the bar. An attractive piece with a green patina, all elements moving freely with no breakages noted other than some minor chips and a slight curve to the sheet.
