Sir William Amcotts-Ingilby was an MP for East Retford as Member of Parliament in the House of Commons in 1807. Ingilby left Parliament in 1812 later to rejoin Parliament in a by-election, in 1823 as MP for Lincolnshire. He then held that seat until the abolition of that constituency in 1832, then sitting for North Lincolnshire until defeated in the election of 1835.
