Ireland. Charles I, 1625-49. Lead Token Or Farthing. Siege Issue Of The Southern ‘Cities Of Refuge’, Bandon (Bridge) And Kinsale. Struck As An Emergency Coinage In Bandon / Kinsale, County Cork. Octagonal And Of Crude Style. 5.83g.

Obv: BB (Bridge of the Bandon) in pelleted circle. Rev: S•K (Kinsale) counterstamp.

Cf: Similar in style to the Bandon (Bridge) Farthing of 1547 (S.6560), however being struck of lead and omitting the castles, replaced with the SK counterstamp.

An interesting study piece. Believed to be a token or possibly a trial piece. In nice overall condition.
