Obv: Uniface, domed. Rev: Stylised horse standing right, charioteer’s arm above, ‘coffee bean’ and ‘thunderbolt’ behind, numerous pellets around.
This issue is widely believed to have been issued to fund the Gallic war against Julius Caesar in Gaul (58 BC - 50 BC).

An attractively struck and well centred example showing a full horse, some light surface scuffs to the uniface obverse. Struck of a rich yellowish gold. Much appeal in the hand.
