Military Payment Certificates were specifically designed to be used by military personnel and their families at military bases and other designated locations where U.S. currency was not readily available. These notes were issued in various denominations and series, with each note featuring unique designs and security features to prevent counterfeiting. The use of Military Payment Certificates began during World War II and continued through the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
