Spain. 8 Reales ‘Cob’, 1729. Mexico Mint. Hollandia Shipwreck. With Certificate Signed By Dive Leader And Surveyor Terry Hiron, 25.55g.

 

Hollandia, the Dutch East India Company (VOC) ship sank in 1743 off the Isles of Scilly, England, on its maiden voyage to the East Indies. A significant treasure of coins were discovered by divers in 1971.

 

Some grey tone, with surface marks consistent with shipwreck pieces. The last two digits of date visible. Some wear to the certificate and old staple marks in one corner.
