Roman Empire. Valentinian II, 375–92 AD. Restrike Gold Solidus, ‘Milan Mint’. Hallmarked With Makers Mark And “1000” (Pure 24ct Gold). Believed To Be Struck Between 1960-1990’s. 4.95g, 20mm.

 

Obv: Diademed and draped bust of emperor facing right, DN VALENTINI-ANVS P F AVG.

Rev: Two emperors seated facing, holding globe, victory between, VICTOR-IA AVGG, M-D, COM in exergue.

 

In nice as struck condition, a lustre to the gold’s surface. A good quality restrike with much eye appeal in the hand.
