Jean Rosemary Campbell Burton-Brown, 1908-2009, (known professionally as Miss Jean R C Burton-Brown) qualified from the Royal Free Hospital in 1940 at the age of 32, and then did a series of house jobs during the Blitz, before specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology. She was a senior registrar to Chassar Moir in Oxford, under whose guidance she gained the gold medal for her MD examination in 1946 for her work on the function of the placenta.
An attractive medal in nice original condition, the box with signs of age and light wear.
