Obv: Portrait of Queen Victoria wearing a crown and long lace veil, decorations to chest including Garter Star and Imperial Order of the Crown of India, legend ‘VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX’. Rev: Enthroned and crowned figure of Victoria holding sword and orb, Mercury and Time at her feet, the personifications of Science, Letters, Art, Industry and Agriculture around her, holding relevant implements.
This particular portrait bears many similarities to the ‘Jubilee Head’ coinage portrait introduced in the same year, also by Boehm.
A rich and attractive brown tone, trivial surface marks and an edge nick / knock on reverse. The box showing overall general wear and does not clip shut.
